Over a career spanning three decades, Cory has become known for providing authentic executive leadership and innovative project execution and manufacturing strategies. He is a hyper-effective catalyst to rapid growth and expansion of small to mid-sized manufacturing organizations and beyond. A solutions-oriented communicator, Cory is a relied upon subject matter expert with a proven ability to distill business requirements into actionable objectives and see those objectives through to realization. His transcendent leadership and dedication to train/develop technical teams into knowledgeable, high-performing business units has resulted in best-in-class outcomes.
Upon earning a degree in Electrical Engineering, Cory began his career designing PLC-based industrial control systems and HMI’s for custom machinery suppliers to the automotive industry. He progressed into variety of project management and operational and engineering leadership roles before accepting responsibility leading a new product rollout and manufacturing transfer to mainland China. His leadership resulted in the on-time launch of a new facility for the manufacture of coated glass products for the touchscreen industry, including the innovative projected capacitive sensor to be deployed on the as-yet pre-release iPhone and iPad.
Following the success of the China launch, Cory accepted a leadership role at Prime Star Solar, a Colorado based startup seeking to commercialize a CdTe solar module technology. At PrimeStar, he assembled and led a world class team of engineers and project managers to provide equipment engineering and manufacturing solutions to the growing organization.
After PrimeStar’s acquisition by General Electric in 2011, Cory continued a senior technical leadership career in various GE businesses, initially overseeing the development of coordinated solar and energy storage control systems for utility scale projects, and eventually leading the advanced manufacturing engineering team for GE’s Durathon battery manufacturing facility.
Upon leaving GE in 2016, Cory turned his subject matter expertise in energy storage systems, deep knowledge in manufacturing and business execution toward the consulting arena. Joining Leidos Engineering, he was responsible for all aspects of the battery energy storage practice, advising clients in project and company level investments for a range of commercial and utility scale projects.
In 2018, Cory launched Configure Consulting with the goal of enabling small to mid-sized manufacturers and project developers by providing top tier technical and business consulting services without the big-ticket pricing associated with larger firms. Utilizing a network of subject matter experts developed over his career, Cory has demonstrated the ability to assemble the right team for the task at hand.
